As we know, and honor, here in the United States of America, with the “First 5” program, which was fostered by the Bush Administration:
is one of Los Angeles, California(‘s) significant focal points, for those who are entering in to the world of parenthood, whereas, here, in California, we excel in academics and social and family care. Parenthood is a bustling time of rigorous scheduling and responsibilities.
Here is my personal list of closely-held articles of early nurturing environment years’ essentials, for the parents, and parents-to-be, out there, in America, and perhaps across the globe.
(Updating).
- Three meals were served, every day. We ate out at restaurants occasionally (maybe once a month).
- I was taught how to ride a bike, on tricycle wheels, initially.
- We were given a bath or shower every day. At around age 6, I started out in bathing on my own.
- My mother or father slapped me if I did something grossly inappropriate or offensive.
- We sat at the dinner table with the TV on. Nobody spoke to each other, during this time.
- We didn’t speak much at all, for the most part.
- My parents would take me to bed, every night, when I would fall asleep in the living room.
- We had a play room for our toys, such as electric trains, army figures, and LEGOs.
- We went to the park, every now and then.
- We were put in to piano lessons at the age of 5, with a local music teacher, nearby the home.
- We had to practice piano for 30 minutes a day, we received stars for passing playing songs, and we kept a schedule of our practice time, during the week.
- We went to church every Sunday, at a Chinese (mostly) baptist type of church. I was baptized at age 6.
- We went to summer camp, and recreational church programs, during the summer.
- We had 2 or 3 dogs when we were growing up.
- We had a swimming pool in the backyard, and we learned to swim, at the YMCA.
- There were fruit trees and a green lawn in our back yard. The front yard had hedges and a lawn.
- We went to preschool and kindergarten.
- I had a very visually active imagination, as a child, and I would imagine that I was flying amongst the things I would see, while in a car, looking out the window.
- We would go on vacations to places like Las Vegas, the Grand Canyon, Yosemite, Canada, Blythe, and Solvang.
- We had whole milk with every meal, and there was always juice and sodas in the fridge.
